Brighton & Hove City Council has expanded its temporary accommodation provision for women in housing need through the refurbishment of eleven flats in a former council‑owned office building.
Conveniently situated in a central location, the flats are close to amenities, green spaces and public transport.
To keep up with modern living standards, the interiors have been tastefully modernised while retaining the building’s historic character, including its large windows and high ceilings.

Councillor Gill Williams, Cabinet Member for Housing, said: “Finding yourself on a brink of losing a home is an extremely challenging, distressing experience.
“One of our commitments to improving the standard and levels of support for people finding themselves homeless in the city is to provide more women-only temporary accommodation.”
The development has been part‑funded by the central government’s Local Authority Housing Fund alongside council borrowing.
New residents have expressed their gratitude and have been left feeling fortunate and impressed by the work carried out by the local authority.
