BAFTA-winning professor will visit Worthing Assembly Hall this autumn to reveal the intriguing history of the national British drink.
In his brand-new talk, David Olusoga is poised to use art, photography, history and humour to discuss the Boston Tea Party, the Opium Wars and the British East India Company, which made tea more than just a domestic tradition, turning it into a controversy involving industrial espionage and the great migration within India.
Olusoga has risen to renown in recent years, becoming prolific and highly respected in multiple spaces. He has twice interviewed US President Barack Obama, reached the finals of the BBC hit TV series Celebrity Traitors, and has enjoyed success on BBC2 with his 3-part series Empire. A fresh instalment of his much anticipated BBC2 series House Through Time is scheduled for this summer.
A Q&A session will follow this talk, as will a book signing – offering you a chance to meet one of the UK’s foremost public historians.
