Assault on Church Road in Hove

Police appeal to anyone who recognises this man in connection with an assault that took place in Brighton and Hove.

Sussex Police are seeking help to identify a person in connection with an assault that took place in Church Road near Hove Villas.

On Friday 24 July at around 10.15pm, a 59-year-old man and a 13-year-old girl were walking in the street in the direction of Portslade when they bumped into a man walking in the opposite direction.

After an apology, the assailant started to verbally and physically assault the 59-year-old leaving the victim with multiple injuries to his face for which he attended hospital for treatment.

With officers making progress in their investigation, police would now like to speak to the person pictured above in connection with the assault.

Anyone who recognises them, witnessed the incident, or has relevant information such as CCTV, mobile or dashcam footage is encouraged to come forward.

Information can be reported online, or by calling 101 quoting serial 123 of 25/07.
