From the writer of the original 1995 rom-com, Amy Heckerling gives life to the high school matchmaker and fashion enthusiast Cher Horowitz yet again.
However, this time the social queen, played by Alicia Silverstone, is a successful entrepreneur and a mother to a high-school teenager, who makes the central protagonist face parenting challenges that leave her clueless.
To preserve the film’s nostalgic aesthetic, production is scheduled to begin in Los Angeles in 2027.
The series will premiere globally and exclusively on Paramount+.
And while the anticipation is hot, fans are concerned that the demand will simply not be there.
The 30‑year‑old revival has received a thumbs‑down since the announcement on social media, with criticism highlighting its dated relevance.
